DeKalb STEM – FAQ Q: How much does it cost? A: Our 60-minute tutoring sessions are currently offered at an introductory rate of $24. Q: How do payments work? A: Payment is made at the time of service. Q: Where are you located? A: We’re currently meeting at the DeKalb Public Library while we search for a permanent location. Q: Who are the tutors, and are they qualified? A: Our tutoring team includes two highly skilled high school students with strong academic and math backgrounds—one of whom plans to study education—and one professional teacher with over 15 years of experience. Q: How often should my child attend? A: Attendance is flexible and based on your family’s needs. Tutoring is available weekday evenings between 5:15 PM and 7:30 PM. Q: What should my child bring? A: Please bring any necessary materials such as textbooks, Chromebooks, homework, math worksheets, quizzes, or tests. Policies Scheduling Tutoring sessions begin at 5:15 PM. Please register in advance to reserve your child’s spot. Registered families will receive an email confirmation. Late Arrivals & Cancellations Sessions begin promptly at the scheduled time. Late arrivals will not extend the session length or reduce the cost. Drop-Off & Pick-Up Parents must sign their child in and out each session. Students will only be released to a parent or guardian—consistent with standard school safety practices. Property Damage If a student intentionally damages property or behaves destructively, parents will be responsible for repair or replacement costs and any related legal fees.
